    The New York Daily News had an article on January 2nd detailing that Black Friday and December 23, 2011 were the top 2 highest days ever for gun sales.

    Of course, the Brady Campaign has a response at the end of the article claiming that there are fewer gun owners, and the sales are due to stockpiling.  They do not offer any proof.

    Rush Limbaugh has been covering this for a while, and is keeping his listeners updated.  It seems that the object of this operation was to create a gun problem in Mexico that could be linked to the U.S.A. gun market.  This would create a grand  excuse to increase the control and restriction of firearm sale and ownership in the U.S.A. and further erosion of the Second Amendment.

    Of course there was also a cover-up that included perjury across the Justice Department as they lied to Congress.

    Fortunately this program has been exposed for what it is–another attempt at gun control.  These leaders are smart enough to not make an open attempt similar to the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.  Unfortunately it has cost many American and Mexican lives, and will continue on that path.  These firearms have not been recovered, and are still in the possession of the criminal gangs based in Mexico.

    “Two to the body, one to the head, is guaranteed to leave them DEAD.”

    FirearmPop made this interesting video demonstrating his technique for self defense in close quarters for those that carry concealed pistols.  He demonstrates the good practice of shooting twice to the torso and once to the head for times that you must defend yourself.  The important part is that he practices that way as well.

     

    Practice is important for muscle memory; that is why all professional athletes spend time rehearsing their response for times when they are under pressure to perform.  Defending yourself and your loved ones is even more important than some athlete winning a game.

    Carrying and using a concealed firearm is an important responsibility.   Practicing your response for those times you are threatened could save your life.

    Target shooting with his 9mm Glock 19 and his 40 cal Glock 23, he lost attention span and cross loaded the incorrect magazine.  This is an interesting demonstration of what can happen when not paying close attention to detail at the gun range.

    He is fortunate that nothing bad happened. The possibilities abound as to the dangers faced by this situation. Very fortunate that nothing worse happened.

    Firing a .30 Cal cartridge, this gun was given to many troops in the Allied forces serving in WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam wars.  Compact, lightweight, and ease of operation make this firearm friendly to use and operate.

    Chamber flags are a quick and inexpensive method of identifying unloaded firearms.  They save time and energy from constantly checking whether a gun is loaded with a bullet in the firing chamber.  This can be a valuable addition to your safety practices, especially where other people come into contact with your firearms.

    This rifle is a modified version of the American M4 model Colt rifle.  Incorporating several advancements, the most beneficial is a new gas operating system adopted from the Heckler & Koch G36.  M4s can be updated via the installation of a new upper receiver, buffer and drive spring.  It uses the same military 5.56×45 round that has been adopted by NATO.

    U.S. Special forces have been using the rifle for some time, reportedly going back to 2004.  It has been in the news lately as one of the tools used in the capture of Osama Bin Laden.

    I found this video demonstrating just one of the superior features of the HK 416 versus the M4 Colt in the “Over the Beach Test.”

    The good news is that there are civilian versions of the HK416 and HK417 available.  Referred to as the MR223 and MR308, both are semi-automatic rifles with several ‘sporterized’ features.  Introduced to the American civilian marketat the 2009 SHOT Show, these two firearms were announced as being available; renamed respectively MR556 and MR762. Of course these are available in the Remington .223 caliber.

    This is a great special report from the PBS Newshour on the Special Operations units within the U.S. Military.  Expected to number around 4,000 members, these are the tip of the spear for getting things done, usually under conditions of secrecy.  These guys are highly equipped with all of the latest and greatest weapons, training, and equipment.

    They are an army within an army.
