Making Your Own Magnetic Firearms Holster

It is important to consider non-traditional methods of concealing firearms.  Off-body concealment of pistols can be beneficial inside personal activity areas such as your home, your garage, your vehicle, and your work when acceptable.  Magnetic firearms retainment is a possible solution to your need.

The biggest hurdle is whether your firearm is compatible with a magnet.  Plastic guns that do not have a significant metallic frame surface will not work with magnets.  Stainless steel is normally a non-metallic as well.  There are getting to be many exotic gunframe alloys in use that may be questionable.  Full frame high-caliber pistols may be too heavy for magnetic support alone.  Testing this out may be the only sure method to identify compatibility.

There are several available options to purchase these from vendors.  Or you could just rig something up for yourself.  I found a great Youtube video of just such a situation.  Called “How to Make a Magnetic Holster,” this video demonstrates just how quick and easy it is to accomplish.

Steve with Safe Arms Review does a great job giving us some valuable information on how to construct a magnetic firearm retention device, what materials are required, and some ideas on where and how to mount it.

Concealed Carry Travel Holster

I have been using my concealed carry travel holster made by SeatCarry for a long time, and I love it!  It allows for quick and easy access to my firearm while I am in my vehicle.

Carrying concealed in a vehicle can be difficult.  Finding a good place to conceal the firearm is difficult.  I personally hate putting it in the glove box, center console, or under the seat.  And I am a big guy, so having it on my hip makes it difficult to locate in a hurry.  It is not that comfortable over long travel distances to have the seat belt pulled against a hip holster.  The SeatCarry overcomes many of these problems, and functions as an unobtrusive holster system that is a comfortable method to carry concealed in a vehicle.

The SeatCarry is Made in the USA and constructed of top-quality materials.  I have used this holster for quite a while, and could not recommend it more.   It is a very affordable solution to my off-body carry needs for vehicles.

Folks that are older, or have limited mobility would greatly benefit from a holster such as this.  It allows for shorter reaches and much easier access.  The holster is a great solution to safely conceal a firearm in a way so it remains within the owner’s possession while not being directly on their person.

Deer Hunting Secrets

The very successful Whitetail deer hunters know all of the secrets to getting those big bucks.  They know all about the habits of the deer.  How to track them.  Understanding their movements.  Knowing what their ruts and scrapes mean.  Good shot placement to take them down.  How and where to use scents.  What sort of stand works best.  On and on.

Those folks that understand all of that are the masters, and they know from years of experience how to repetitively achieve success from hunting bucks.  What about the rest of us?  Some of us do not have anybody in our life that has the knowledge to share.  The time to teach it.

I found a great online resource to pass on to those of you that love to hunt and need to improve your skills.  Charlie Hicks put some great info together that you MUST check out if you want to improve your Whitetail deer hunting skills.  He promises to get you on your way toward being able to repetitively get big bucks by learning their habits and behavior, not just relying upon luck.

Funny Video of Gun Training

This Youtube clip is a grin.  Indoor shooting of a gun by an Arab at an indoor shooting range does not work out so well.  This has to be his first time shooting, and it is obvious he is not holding the gun tight enough.

Does not end in tragedy, and there is not any blood or guts, nor is there any swearing.  Pretty much  rated G.

People like this scare me to be around at the shooting range.  This is why I like to shoot on my own.

The Basics of Safety with Shotguns

It is very important that all guns be handled in a safe manner.  Firearms are designed to kill, and are a good tool for doing so.  Normally this is for sport, but also can be used for self defense and sport such as target shooting.

Shotguns can be fun when used for shooting clay targets in the air.  Doing this safely is very important so that we do not hurt ourselves or our fellow sportsmen.  Knowing and understanding the particular firearm is very important, whether it be a pistol, rifle, or shotgun.

I found an interesting video about basic shotgun safety for clay shooting for a place called Rock Creek.

The video is very well done and easy to understand and comprehend.  The instruction is very clear and concise, being very easy to follow.

The same general themes from this shotgun video can be followed for other firearms.  Know how the safety operates, know how to check the chamber for a loaded shell, and keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction.  Help prevent accidents and tragedies by following proper safety activities.

I Like Guns Music Video

I gotta hand it to Steve Lee.  He has a great song and music video called “I like Guns.”

The song is sort of a country tune, but it is an original, and very funny.

The video is very funny, lots of good visuals and of course, lots of guns.  Pistols, long guns, automatic guns, military guns, etc.

Enjoy!
