Self Preservation

Self Preservation

As humans, we have the right to self preservation and it was granted by God.  Evil forces are numerous and they attack innocent people for a variety of reasons, all of them illegal.

From Guncite:

“The defence of one’s self, justly called the primary law of nature, is not, nor can it be abrogated by any regulation of municipal law.”
James Wilson, Of the Natural Rights of Individuals, in 2 The Works of James Wilson 335 (J.D. Andrews ed. 1896). (From a series of lectures given between 1790 and 1792.)

From Catholic Encyclopedia:

Ethically the subject of self-defence regards the right of a private person to employ force against any one who unjustly attacks his life or person, his property or good name. While differing among themselves on some of the more subtle and less practical points comprised in this topic, our moralists may be said to be unanimous on the main principles and their application regarding the right of self-defence.

Firearms are the preferred tool for attack by criminals.  Victims should have the ability to arm themselves in an equal or superior nature to defend themselves from attack by evil forces.  Gun control laws force innocent victims to be restricted in their ability to defend themselves when under attack by criminal elements.
