Record-Breaking Gun Sales for Christmas

Gun sales are breaking records.  The FBI is reporting that the number of background checks has increased substantially just before Christmas 2011.

The FBI Statistics can be found here.

The New York Daily News had an article on January 2nd detailing that Black Friday and December 23, 2011 were the top 2 highest days ever for gun sales.

Of course, the Brady Campaign has a response at the end of the article claiming that there are fewer gun owners, and the sales are due to stockpiling.  They do not offer any proof.

Here is a news report from Fox21 News Colorado

The NRA Videos Channel has an interview as well that discusses who the buyers are and why they are buying.

Looks like a great time to be a gun owner and the popularity is spreading!

Fast and Furious Planned to Regulate Guns in the U.S.A.

The truth about the Fast and Furious scandal continues to come out.

Rush Limbaugh has been covering this for a while, and is keeping his listeners updated.  It seems that the object of this operation was to create a gun problem in Mexico that could be linked to the U.S.A. gun market.  This would create a grand  excuse to increase the control and restriction of firearm sale and ownership in the U.S.A. and further erosion of the Second Amendment.

Of course there was also a cover-up that included perjury across the Justice Department as they lied to Congress.

Rush Limbaugh’s comments are below.  Fast and Furious comments begin around 7:18.

Mainstream media has been covering this on occasion, and Sharyl Attkisson at CBS News has been leading the way. Recent CBS News stories are here, and here.
An interesting report on Jaime Zapata below:

Fortunately this program has been exposed for what it is–another attempt at gun control.  These leaders are smart enough to not make an open attempt similar to the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.  Unfortunately it has cost many American and Mexican lives, and will continue on that path.  These firearms have not been recovered, and are still in the possession of the criminal gangs based in Mexico.

Interview with Sharyl Attkisson on C-SPAN.  There are some very telling points here:

Shotgun Close Call

Firearms safety is very important.  Firearms should always be treated as if they are loaded and ready to fire.

The video below demonstrates several rules that are broken when shooting firearms.

It would be a pretty safe bet that this gentleman is much more careful in the future!

“Fast and Furious” Scandal: Who Knew and When?

Who at the U.S. Justice Department knew about the Fast and Furious Gunwalking Scandal and when?

Lou Dobbs explored this topic on 10/14/2011 in an interview with J. Christian Adams.

New documents have been revealed that demonstrate how briefings were circulating the Justice Department with details of this ATF gunwalking operation.  Attorney General Eric Holder testified to Congress that he was in the dark during some of these times in question.

Did he lie to Congress?

Sounds like lots of shenanigans at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Two to the Body, One to the Head…

Found an interesting video describing the concept of :

“Two to the body, one to the head, is guaranteed to leave them DEAD.”

FirearmPop made this interesting video demonstrating his technique for self defense in close quarters for those that carry concealed pistols.  He demonstrates the good practice of shooting twice to the torso and once to the head for times that you must defend yourself.  The important part is that he practices that way as well.

Practice is important for muscle memory; that is why all professional athletes spend time rehearsing their response for times when they are under pressure to perform.  Defending yourself and your loved ones is even more important than some athlete winning a game.

Carrying and using a concealed firearm is an important responsibility.   Practicing your response for those times you are threatened could save your life.

Accidental 9mm Through 40 Cal Glock

I found an interesting video from Youtube user Comanchero762.  He had the interesting experience of shooting 9mm ammo through his .40 caliber Glock.

Target shooting with his 9mm Glock 19 and his 40 cal Glock 23, he lost attention span and cross loaded the incorrect magazine.  This is an interesting demonstration of what can happen when not paying close attention to detail at the gun range.

He is fortunate that nothing bad happened. The possibilities abound as to the dangers faced by this situation. Very fortunate that nothing worse happened.
